CONTROLLED DEVELOPMENT, DOCUMENTED RESULTS
XFD uses a disciplined development process to evaluate RC performance changes. The objective is to determine why a configuration works, identify its compromises, and produce results that can be repeated.
1. ESTABLISH THE BASELINE
Testing begins with a defined vehicle, configuration, surface, and operating condition. The baseline is documented before upgrades or setup changes are introduced.
2. CHANGE ONE VARIABLE
Whenever practical, one component or setup variable is changed at a time. This helps separate genuine performance improvements from changes caused by unrelated variables.
3. TEST ACROSS CONDITIONS
Configurations are evaluated across relevant surfaces, obstacles, and operating conditions. Current testing priorities include rules-based 1/30 competition crawling, supported by 1/24 benchmarking and selected broader RC development.
4. MEASURE AND DOCUMENT
Fitment, weight, geometry, performance, reliability, and observed compromises are recorded. Unsuccessful combinations are documented because they are also valuable development results.
5. VALIDATE THE CONFIGURATION
Promising setups are tested repeatedly before they are considered validated. Components must work together as a complete system—not simply perform well during one test.
6. APPLY THE RESULTS
Validated findings guide future XFD upgrade packages, documented builds, setup information, compatibility recommendations, and proprietary product development.
